Faith Daily: Choose Faith Over Frustration
Jan Silvious, the author of Big Girls Don’t Whine, got me thinking about my behavior yesterday. It was a rather frustrating morning for me and I did not handle it well. By the way, were you aware that frustration is rooted in impatience? Anyway, my laptop was not working and I was not able to access my blog. In the midst of all this, I kept pausing to breathe and asked God to help me through this situation, but rather than operate from a place of patience, I CHOSE to stay frustrated thinking that the issue was never going to be resolved. Well, after all of my frustration, both issues were easily fixed and I ended up apologizing to a group of support specialists for my behavior. What did I learn from this?
1. Choose to be patient. Faith requires patience.
2. Trust the process. There is always a lesson to be learned and we learn more about our maturity level as a person in our process.
3. Stay humble. Be willing to remain open and honest with yourself and others. If you made a mistake or hurt others, apologize. Don’t forget to seek forgiveness from God about it too!
4. Keep moving! Do not dwell in how you handled a situation. Take the lessons learned, breathe, trust God and His process, and continue to walk by faith!
If you begin to apply the same steps, you will win over the emotion of frustration, and begin to operate in faith. I hope this blessed and encouraged you! Please drop a line and feel free to share on social media!
