Do yourself a favor, chill out, and
just take the leap of belief! Believe that He speaks and is capable of speaking to beautiful you! Yes you! Believe that He wants to speak to you. Yes, believe. Believe that you too can hear and communicate with God.
The definition of believe is defined as the following:
- to consider to be true or honest
- to accept the word or evidence of
- to accept something as true, genuine, or real
- to have a firm or wholehearted religious conviction or persuasion: to regard the existence as God as fact
- to have a firm conviction as to the goodness, efficacy, or ability of something
- to hold an opinion

For this context, we want to focus on numbers 1-5, and not get into opinions. When we have discussions with our family, friends, associates, or colleagues, we can all have an opinion or view on a particular topic, but if we are truly making a choice to walk by faith, on a journey with the Lord, then our opinions do not matter. We either make a choice to believe Him and His Word, or we don’t.
- “For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.” Romans 1:20
- “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.” John 1:1
The act of believing fits right in with faith. It is a “blind walk” in which you learn how to trust and take God at His Word, and His individual promises for your life. This is not about, “Hey God! How bout you show me first, and then I’ll do blah blah blah.” We must take that first step!
- “So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.” Romans 10:17
- “He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God.” John 1:2
He has already done His part. He sent his son to the earth, whom died on the cross and, then rose from the dead, so that we may live free of sin, enjoy life to the fullest, and have eternal life.
- “A Redeemer (Messiah) will come to Zion, And to those in Jacob (Israel) who turn from transgression (sin),” declares the Lord Isaiah 59:20 *SPOKEN BEFORE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT
- “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 *ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
So you might be asking, what does God want from me? How do I do this? I have no idea where to start. I don’t even know if I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross or if that even happened. I got nothing!
I pray that you are encouraged on this journey and are gaining a true understanding of the importance of belief. If this was encouraging to you, please share!
Blessings,
Kia
P.S. If you are at that point (that I mentioned above), listen and/or go back to read the previous posts (Faith is and You Too Can Hear from God). Make sure you have a journal so that you can jot down your thoughts, questions you have, and even jot down the scriptures that I have been including in readings. There is a second part to this coming up, but until then, start journaling!
